Christmas Curriculum

Happy December from America! I’m home for the holidays and I’ll be heading back to Micronesia right after the New Year to continue teaching for our final semester at Chuuk High School. My previous posts have outlined the adventure we call Chuuk, as well as some of my experiences as a high school English reading teacher to about 120 students with no outlined curriculum, struggling wifi, minimal resources and little administrative support – a slightly different project than we came to do originally.

Since being home, I’ve been able to observe a few 9th grade English reading classes and ask many questions to some qualified teachers. Once again, you teachers are so good at what you do! Thank you!

This Christmas season, how would you like to contribute to Chuuk High School’s English reading curriculum?! Your donations will go toward purchasing and shipping classroom sets of books, such as Roald Dahl books and audiobooks, which will then be donated to the school’s library at the end of the school year in May.

I invite you to donate by clicking on the yellow button below. Every dollar helps!

Once you click on the donate button, the screen below will appear. Please enter the donation amount and select the payment option you prefer – through your PayPal account or by credit card.

Thank you for your generous donations and Merry Christmas!
